LEGO Math K-2 (Fridays 3:00 p.m)
LEGO Math: Create, Collaborate, and Learn!
Students tackle hands-on LEGO building challenges that reinforce the math concepts they’re learning in kindergarten through second grade: counting and number sense, addition and subtraction, place value (tens and ones), skip counting, patterns, symmetry, and measurement. Guided builds, robotics exploration, and free-build time turn each of these ideas into something kids can see, touch, and build.
What They’ll Do:
- Build & Experiment: Take on engaging design challenges and projects, bringing original ideas to life one brick at a time.
- Develop Skills: Strengthen real math thinking — counting studs, grouping bricks into tens, measuring and comparing tower heights, building arrays that lead toward multiplication, and splitting builds into equal parts — while developing focus, precision, and confidence.
- Collaborate & Problem-Solve: Work with peers to plan, build, and innovate together, fostering teamwork and creative thinking with LEGO bricks, LEGO Education sets, and more.
