LEGO & Literacy K-2 (Thursdays 4:05 pm)
LEGO & Literacy: Build, Read, and Create!
Students take the next step in their reading journey through engaging LEGO challenges paired with explicit, sequential, and systematic literacy instruction. Building on their knowledge of letters and sounds, young readers strengthen decoding skills, blend and segment words, explore word families and sight words, and begin forming simple sentences. LEGO builds bring words and stories to life, making reading and writing feel like play.
What They’ll Do:
- Build & Read: Use LEGO bricks to construct words, decode sentences, and bring stories to life through hands-on challenges.
- Develop Skills: Strengthen phonics, word-building, sentence formation, reading fluency, and early writing through playful, multisensory activities.
- Collaborate & Create: Work alongside peers to build, read, and explore the connection between sounds, words, and stories.
By the end of the course, students will confidently decode short words, recognize common sight words, and form simple sentences — all while having fun with LEGO play.
At Brainiax, we inspire young readers to approach literacy with curiosity, confidence, and creativity in a supportive and engaging environment.
