LEGO & Literacy Pre-K-K (Thursdays 3:00 pm)
LEGO & Literacy: Build, Read, and Discover!
Students begin their reading journey through playful, hands-on LEGO challenges paired with explicit, sequential, and systematic literacy instruction. In a fun, stress-free environment, young learners build confidence in foundational pre-reading skills including print concepts, letter recognition (uppercase and lowercase), phonological awareness such as rhyming and syllables, phonemic awareness, and an introduction to beginning phonics. LEGO builds bring letters, sounds, and words to life, making early literacy feel like play.
What They’ll Do:
- Build & Learn: Use LEGO bricks to construct letters, sound out words, and bring stories to life through hands-on challenges.
- Develop Skills: Strengthen letter recognition, phonemic awareness, fine motor coordination, and early phonics through playful, multisensory activities.
- Collaborate & Create: Work alongside peers to build, explore, and discover the connection between letters, sounds, and words.
By the end of the course, students will recognize all uppercase letters, many lowercase letters, and demonstrate strong sound awareness that prepares them for decoding instruction — all while having fun with LEGO play.
At Brainiax, we inspire young learners to explore reading with curiosity, confidence, and creativity in a supportive and engaging environment.
