STEAM Engineers (Tuesdays 4:00 pm)
STEAM Engineers: Creative Fun Meets Hands-On Learning!
In this hands-on, project-based class, students engage in STEAM challenges that integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and math to deepen understanding through exploration and design. Using real-world materials and guided instruction, students build marshmallow geometric structures, construct popsicle stick bridges and test them for load capacity, design catapults to calculate launch angles and distances, and use LEGOs to explore graphing, patterns, and data representation. Each project emphasizes problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking while strengthening skills in geometry, measurement, data analysis, and early algebra. This class encourages curiosity, creativity, and engineering thinking as students test ideas, analyze results, and refine their designs.
What Kids Will Do:
- Build exciting engineering projects that spark problem-solving skills.
- Explore technology and science through fun, hands-on experiments.
- Engineers creative art-infused activities that bring STEAM concepts to life (ex. electric Play-Doh).
- Develop teamwork and critical thinking skills in a collaborative environment.
Each session combines imagination and learning to ignite a passion for discovery while building skills that prepare children for a bright, innovative future.
